About Us

Sandringham Lions Club was chartered on 27th September, 1966. The sponsoring Club was Moorabbin. Remarkably, we still retain one of those founding members.
Sandringham Lions Club is a member club of V5 Disctrict, which runs from Chelsea through to Wangaratta, via Oakleigh, Waverley, Ringwood, Healesville and northward.
There are 60+ clubs in the V5 District. Other Victorian Districts are V1-4, V2, V3, V5 and V6.
Sandy Lions are in Zone 11, along with Brighton, Beaumaris, Moorabbin, Modialloc-Mentone and Chelsea Clubs.

The Melbourne suburb of Sandringham is located about 15 kilometres south east of the Melbourne City Centre.
It is one of the oldest suburbs in Victoria – one of its primary schools is over 150 years old.
It is a beachside suburb, with an Art Walk along the cliffs and beaches.
It is a suburb of the City of Bayside, though prior to local government amalgamations in the 90's it was a city in its own right.

At April, 2010 we had in excess of 32 members, approximately evenly split between ladies and gentlemen.
